Jack Whitehall Joins Cast of Peacock's 'The Burbs' Series

Peacock has announced the addition of five new cast members for its upcoming adaptation of the 1989 film The 'Burbs, including Jack Whitehall, Paula Pell, Julia Duffy, Mark Proksch, and Kapil Talwalkar, joining lead star Keke Palmer. The series, set in present-day suburbia, follows a couple who return to the husband's childhood home, only to face unexpected challenges and dark secrets when new neighbors arrive. Celeste Hughey, known for her work on Palm Royale, is the writer and executive producer, alongside other notable producers like Seth MacFarlane and Brian Grazer. Nzingha Stewart will direct the first episode, and the show will film on the same Universal Studios backlot where the original movie was produced. The adaptation promises to blend mystery and comedy, reflecting the themes of the original film while updating it for a contemporary audience. This project represents a significant collaboration between Fuzzy Door and UCP, further expanding their television initiatives.
