Christmas Day Fires Displace Multiple Families
Multiple families were displaced due to separate house fires that occurred on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day across various locations. In Aberdeen and Keyport, New Jersey, two families were displaced after a rekindled fire on Woodmere Drive and another fire on Main Street, displacing a family of up to 10 people and several pets. Meanwhile, in Peabody, Massachusetts, a fire that originated from a pellet stove displaced four residents and their guests, although no injuries were reported. In Southeast D.C., a fire at a two-story home left seven people, including four children, homeless, but again, no injuries were reported. Additionally, a furnace fire in Randolph displaced three residents on Christmas Eve, with the cause linked to a malfunctioning furnace. All affected families are receiving assistance from the Red Cross and other local organizations.
