Escaped Otter Ophelia Returns, Louie Still Missing

Ophelia, one of the two North American river otters that escaped from NEW Zoo & Adventure Park in Suamico, Wisconsin during a snowstorm, has been safely recaptured and returned to her habitat after a veterinary exam confirmed her good health. Despite her return, Ophelia remains elusive to visitors due to her shy nature. Meanwhile, Louie, her fellow escapee, is still at large, possibly traveling further afield during otter breeding season. The zoo continues to track Louie using motion-activated cameras and encourages the public to report sightings, complete with photos or videos. Both otters escaped through a breach in their enclosure's fencing on March 20. The zoo reassures that Louie is likely nearby as otters are native to the area and can fend for themselves.
