Crypto Boss Family Escape Kidnapping Paris Amid Europe-Wide Trend
In Paris's 11th arrondissement, the daughter and grandson of Pierre Noizat, CEO and co-founder of French cryptocurrency exchange Paymium, narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt by three masked assailants posing in a van with a fake delivery logo. The attack, which occurred around 8:20 a.m., involved a violent struggle during which the woman's partner was beaten and the woman seized an airsoft gun from one of the attackers, throwing it away as passers-by intervened by throwing objects at the kidnappers, who then fled. This incident is part of a disturbing series of targeted abductions and extortion attempts against French and European cryptocurrency figures and their families, highlighting increasing physical security risks linked to crypto wealth. Recent cases include the kidnapping and ransom demand involving the father of a crypto millionaire, who was held captive and had a finger severed to pressure payment, and the earlier abduction of Ledger co-founder David Balland and his partner. French police are actively investigating these cases, reflecting growing concerns about violent crimes motivated by perceived cryptocurrency fortunes. These events underscore the urgent need for enhanced security measures within the crypto community as digital assets translate into real-world dangers.
