BBC Proms Announces 2025 Lineup Featuring Historic All-Female Last Night

The BBC Proms 2025 will feature an eight-week season with 86 concerts across the UK, highlighting a record number of female conductors and the first all-female lineup for the Last Night, conducted by Elim Chan with soloists Alison Balsom and Louise Alder. The Proms will host over 3,000 artists and 21 visiting ensembles, including premier orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the Royal Concertgebouw, as well as world premieres from composers like Errollyn Wallen, Camille Pépin, and Rachel Portman. Notable events include a Traitors Prom inspired by the popular TV series, presented by Claudia Winkleman, and expanded children's programming with CBeebies and Wildlife Jamboree concerts. The season will also commemorate significant anniversaries, such as the centenary of the Shipping Forecast and the 50th anniversary of Sir Arthur Bliss's death. The BBC aims to broaden access and engagement, with concerts not only in London but also in Bradford, Belfast, Bristol, and Gateshead.
