Holland Officer Injured in Arrest Incident

Early on December 19, 2024, a Holland police officer sustained a shoulder injury while attempting to arrest a 30-year-old man wanted on multiple warrants. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. as two officers approached the suspect sleeping on the steps of the Herrick District Library. When the officers attempted to take him into custody, the suspect became combative, leading to a struggle that resulted in the officer's injury. Additional officers arrived to assist, and the suspect was eventually arrested. He has been charged with resisting and obstructing an officer causing injury, along with other outstanding warrants. The injured officer received treatment at Holland Hospital and has since been released.
