Jeep Runs Over Sunbather on Florida Beach, Injures Man

On April 5, Coleson Janey, a 33-year-old man from Ocala, Florida, was seriously injured when a Jeep, driven by a 61-year-old woman, ran over him while he was sunbathing on Ormond Beach. The incident occurred as the driver attempted to back into a parking spot, veering off the travel lanes onto the sand. Janey suffered multiple injuries, including a broken femur and forearm, and was hospitalized in stable condition after surgery. Eyewitnesses reported chaos as they called 911 while Janey screamed in pain, recalling the moment he felt the tire roll over him. The driver remained at the scene and was cited for careless driving without signs of impairment, as the investigation continues. Janey expressed gratitude for surviving and is optimistic about his recovery, which is expected to take three to four months.
