15th World Socialism Forum Opens in Beijing with 90 Global Delegates
The 15th World Socialism Forum convened in Beijing, gathering nearly 90 delegates from 35 countries to discuss themes around Chinese-style modernization, the rise of the Global South, and reforms for fairer global governance. Gao Xiang of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences emphasized China's Global Development, Security, Civilization, and Governance Initiatives as practical contributions to global challenges and a new path for socialism and modernization beyond Western models. International participants praised China's leadership in global governance and multilateralism, calling for reforms in international institutions to resist hegemonic and confrontational approaches. Concurrently, the Seminar of ASEAN-China Academies on Governance in Nanning highlighted cooperation on governance issues and regional strategic partnerships in Asia. Meanwhile, the 18th China–Latin America Business Summit in Zhengzhou focused on innovation and intelligent development to deepen economic and trade cooperation between China and Latin America, showcasing a shift from commodity trade to technological and industrial collaboration. These events collectively underscore China's growing role and influence in shaping global development, governance, and multilateral cooperation frameworks.
