San Antonio officer shoots suspect after lake crash, knife threat

A San Antonio man is hospitalized in critical but stable condition after being shot by a Park Police officer following an aggressive encounter. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday when the 30-year-old suspect drove his vehicle into Woodlawn Lake and exited while wielding a knife. The responding officer, a nine-year veteran, attempted to de-escalate the situation by backing away and issuing multiple commands for the man to drop the weapon. After he refused to comply and approached her aggressively, the officer fired two shots, hitting the suspect in the torso. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and is receiving treatment for his injuries. The shooting is currently under investigation by local authorities.
