Torrent Power Limited has committed to investing Rs 64,000 crore towards green and sustainable energy projects, including 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and a 1 lakh KTPA green ammonia production facility. The renewable energy initiative is expected to generate 25,000 jobs, while the green ammonia project will create around 1,000 jobs. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Gujarat government for a 5 GW solar, wind, or hybrid energy project in Dwarka district. The company is also exploring green hydrogen opportunities and plans to develop 5-8 GW of pumped storage capacity. Chairman Samir Mehta emphasized that these initiatives align with national priorities and contribute to India's goal of 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030.
