Four Foxconn Employees Investigated in China

Chinese authorities are investigating four Taiwanese employees of Foxconn for alleged bribery and embezzlement, as confirmed by China's Taiwan Affairs Office. The employees were detained in Zhengzhou, the site of Foxconn's largest iPhone factory, under accusations of breaching trust. Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council remarked that the case appears unusual and does not believe the company has suffered any losses. They suggest the investigation may involve corruption among a few Chinese security officials, which has raised concerns about the treatment of Taiwanese workers in China. This incident comes amid ongoing tensions between Taiwan and China, with Taiwan warning its citizens about the risks of traveling to China. Foxconn, Taiwan's largest private employer, has not commented further on the situation.
