Gold, Silver Bars Worth Thousands Stolen in Devon Burglary

Police in Devon are investigating a burglary in Hatherleigh that occurred between June 12 and June 16, during which several gold and silver items were stolen. The stolen items include two 1kg silver bars without packaging, seven gold bars of various sizes still in their packaging, and 20 gold sovereign coins contained in a small purple zip-up purse. The approximate street values are around £883 for each silver bar, £2,500 per ounce for gold bars, and approximately £620 per sovereign coin. Authorities have appealed to the public to report any attempts to sell these items at pawn shops, auctioneers, or jewelers, and have requested any information or dashcam/doorbell footage that could assist with identifying suspects. Devon and Cornwall Police have provided contact details for reporting information, including a phone number and an independent charity, Crimestoppers, which can be contacted anonymously. The police inquiry remains ongoing as they seek community assistance to recover the stolen valuables and identify those responsible.
