The Bombay High Court has advised Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in her daughter's murder, to handle her banking tasks in Spain and the UK from India, unless her physical presence is genuinely required. Justice Shyam C. Chandak expressed concern over Mukerjea's recent addition of tasks beyond those initially listed in her application to travel, which included property repairs not previously disclosed. The court extended an interim order preventing her travel until August 27, when it will reconsider the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) challenge against a special court's earlier approval for Mukerjea to travel for ten days over the next three months. The CBI argued that most of Mukerjea's banking matters could be managed online, countering her claim of needing to reactivate her defunct accounts personally. Mukerjea's counsel insisted that she needed to access her accounts directly, while the judge warned against introducing new, unapproved tasks. The court has requested detailed lists of tasks from both sides by the next hearing date.
