WBO Orders Alimkhanuly to Face Sheeraz

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has ordered unified middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly to defend his title against unbeaten contender Hamzah Sheeraz. Both fighters have 15 days to negotiate a deal, with a purse bid set for October 23 if an agreement isn’t reached. Alimkhanuly recently defended his IBF title with a stoppage victory over Andrei Mikhailovich, while Sheeraz has been impressive, recently stopping Tyler Denny in just two rounds. The minimum bid for the purse proceedings is $200,000. Alimkhanuly, who also holds the WBO belt, is promoted by Top Rank, while Sheeraz is with Queensberry Promotions. This matchup is highly anticipated due to both fighters' undefeated records and recent performances.
