Zoho Acquires Asimov Robotics, Expands AI Robotics R&D in Kerala

Zoho Corporation has acquired Kochi-based Asimov Robotics, a startup specializing in humanoid, healthcare, and industrial robots, to strengthen its research and development capabilities in artificial intelligence and robotics. The acquisition was announced during the inauguration of Zoho's new R&D campus in Kottarakkara, Kerala, which will focus on advancing deep-tech innovation and making India self-reliant in critical technologies. Zoho aims to foster innovation from rural India and collaborate with like-minded organizations, including the Kerala Startup Mission, through initiatives like the Deep-Tech Product Studio that supports startups and researchers. The company has also formed strategic R&D partnerships with various startups and institutions such as IIT Bombay, Boson Motors, and Zentron Labs to work on projects in clean energy, healthcare, semiconductors, and advanced materials. Asimov Robotics, known for developing hospital robots during the COVID-19 pandemic, will continue its operations with mentorship from Zoho's team at the Kottarakkara campus. This acquisition aligns with Zoho's broader deep-tech push and builds on its earlier investments in other robotics and AI startups.
