Pakistan Army Reports 11 Soldiers, 19 Militants Killed in Northwest Ambush
A high-level Saudi delegation led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud visited Pakistan to sign multiple business and investment agreements, reinforcing the strong economic and strategic ties between the two countries following a recent defense agreement. Meanwhile, Pakistani security forces faced a deadly ambush by militants in the northwestern Kurram and Orakzai districts near the Afghan border, resulting in the deaths of 11 Pakistani soldiers, including two officers, and 19 militants. The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, which involved roadside bombs and intense gunfire. Pakistani military officials praised the bravery of the fallen soldiers and launched immediate operations to clear militant hideouts and rescue personnel. The Pakistani government accuses militants of operating from Afghanistan with alleged support from India, allegations denied by both countries. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for their efforts against militant violence, which has intensified in recent years, particularly by the Pakistani Taliban.
