Florida AD Scott Stricklin Signs Extension Through 2030 With $250K Raise
Florida Gators athletic director Scott Stricklin has signed a three-year contract extension through October 2030, with an annual salary increase to approximately $2.075 million and potential bonuses up to $300,000 based on athletic and academic performance. The extension includes a semi-retirement role as a special assistant to the athletic director for five years starting in 2030, a position similar to that held by former AD Jeremy Foley, providing Stricklin with $100,000 annually plus benefits and continued access to university resources such as aircraft and administrative support. Stricklin's contract also offers financial security through a retention bonus, longevity bonus, and a retention clause if terminated without cause. His tenure since 2016 has seen the Gators win 13 national titles and 44 conference championships, with significant facility upgrades and successful coaching hires, including men's basketball coach Todd Golden who led the team to its third national championship. The contract extension was approved by interim university presidents Kent Fuchs and Dr. Donald Landry, with the latter having recently taken over the interim role. Stricklin's compensation now ranks him among the top athletic directors nationally and within the SEC, reflecting his pivotal role in maintaining and growing the Gators' athletic prominence.
