The Chicago Bears have placed offensive lineman Ryan Bates on injured reserve due to shoulder and elbow injuries, sidelining him for at least four games. Bates, who played 68% of offensive snaps in the season opener, will be eligible to return in Week 6. To compensate, the Bears elevated wide receiver Collin Johnson and long snapper Scott Daly from the practice squad. Johnson's elevation is a precautionary measure as starting receivers Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze are questionable for the upcoming game against the Houston Texans. Daly will replace Patrick Scales, who is out following back surgery.
