Birmingham Six Member Paddy Hill Dies at 80
Paddy Hill, one of the Birmingham Six, has died at the age of 80. He was wrongfully convicted for the 1974 Birmingham pub bombings that killed 21 people and injured 182, spending 16 years in prison before his conviction was quashed in 1991. Hill later founded the Miscarriages of Justice Organisation (MOJO) to assist others wrongfully imprisoned, dedicating his life to advocating for victims of miscarriages of justice. His experience included brutal police interrogation, where he recalled being tortured into giving false confessions. Colleagues and friends remember him as a kind and genuine person whose legacy will continue through the work of MOJO. His death has prompted tributes from various political figures and organizations highlighting his contributions to justice reform.
