Amelia Kerr Out for ODIs Against India
New Zealand allrounder Amelia Kerr has been ruled out of the remaining ODIs against India due to a grade-one quadricep tear sustained during the first match, which New Zealand lost by 59 runs. Kerr was a key player in the match, taking 4 wickets and scoring 25 runs, but will need approximately three weeks to recover. She will return home for rehabilitation and will not be replaced in the ODI squad, which poses a significant challenge for New Zealand's hopes of success in the series and in the ICC Women's Championship. New Zealand currently sits sixth in the championship standings, and without Kerr, their task of leveling the series against India becomes more difficult. The second ODI is scheduled for October 29, just days after Kerr's injury announcement. Head coach Ben Sawyer expressed disappointment over the injury, emphasizing Kerr's integral role in the team.
