Penn State, Lehigh to Face Off in December

The North Pocono youth wrestling program hosted a clinic featuring Penn State National Champions Greg Kerkvliet and Carter Starocci, aimed at teaching young wrestlers both technical skills and the importance of personal connections in the sport. Kerkvliet emphasized having fun and not taking oneself too seriously, while Starocci highlighted the value of forming bonds with the kids. In collegiate wrestling, Lehigh University announced its schedule for the 2024-25 season, including a highly anticipated rivalry dual against Penn State on December 8 at PPL Center in Allentown, where both teams will showcase several NCAA champions. This match will mark the second college wrestling event at the PPL Center, following a 2017 duel that set attendance records. Penn State, the reigning NCAA champion, has a strong lineup with multiple returning All-Americans, while Lehigh aims to improve on its 15th place finish from last year’s championships. The historic series between the two teams shows Penn State leading with a record of 74-34-3, having won the last 13 encounters.
