Ferrari Builds 100-Foot Engineless Foiling Yacht in Italy

Ferrari is developing the Hypersail, a groundbreaking 100-foot fully foiling monohull yacht designed to 'fly' above the water without the use of engines or fuel, relying entirely on renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and kinetic energy. Designed by French naval architect Guillaume Verdier and led by sailor Giovanni Soldini, the yacht employs three foils—one on a canting keel, one on the rudder, and one on the side—to stabilize itself and reduce drag, enabling unprecedented speed and efficiency on the water. This project reflects Ferrari's ambition to extend its racing legacy from the automotive world into offshore sailing, drawing inspiration from its successful Hypercar lineage and endurance racing heritage.
