Tanak Wins Acropolis, Ends Toyota's Winning Streak

Ott Tanak won the 2025 Acropolis Rally Greece, ending Hyundai's World Rally Championship victory drought and breaking Toyota's six-race winning streak. Tanak and Sebastien Ogier were tied after the opening stage in Athens, but Tanak pulled ahead by stage six and maintained his lead, overcoming balance issues and a late gearbox problem. Ogier finished second for Toyota, while Adrien Fourmaux took third for Hyundai despite suspension damage. Top contenders Kalle Rovanpera and Takamoto Katsuta retired after going off the road, and Hyundai's Thierry Neuville struggled with multiple punctures. The rally was marked by extreme heat, with cockpit temperatures reaching 70C, and rough gravel stages that caused several retirements. Tanak's reliable performance through 17 demanding stages boosted his title hopes.
