Russia Develops Game Consoles with Elbrus Processor

Russia is advancing its gaming technology by developing two new consoles to reduce reliance on Western products. One console will use the domestically produced Elbrus processor and is designed for less demanding gaming experiences, as it cannot compete with the performance of current high-end consoles like the PS5 or Xbox Series X. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to establish a domestic gaming ecosystem, including an operating system and cloud services, led by the Skolkovo Foundation. Meanwhile, the telecommunications company MTS is launching an affordable gaming TV stick that connects users to its Fog Play cloud gaming platform, allowing high-end PC users to rent their computing power. The Fog Play platform aims to offer lower latency gaming experiences at competitive prices. Both developments reflect Russia's efforts to enhance its technological independence amidst ongoing sanctions and global isolation.
