New Adaptation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Announced

Amazon MGM Studios and Eon Productions are developing a remake of the beloved classic "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," with Matthew Warchus set to direct and Enda Walsh penning the script. The original 1968 film, adapted from Ian Fleming's children's story, starred Dick Van Dyke and featured a magical flying car, earning an Academy Award nomination for its title song by the Sherman Brothers. The new movie is currently in the early stages of development and aims to build on the existing partnership between Amazon MGM and Eon Productions, known for their work on the James Bond franchise. Warchus is recognized for his directing work on "Matilda the Musical," while Walsh is known for the recent film "Small Things Like These." The original film's story follows inventor Caractacus Potts and his children as they embark on a whimsical adventure to rescue kidnapped children from a tyrant.
