The album was produced primarily by Daniel James, with additional contributions from Brian Robert Jones, Joey Howard, and Jim-E Stack, highlighting Williams's expanded creative control after completing her contract with Atlantic Records. Previously, Williams offered the songs individually with unique artwork, encouraging fans to create their own playlists and track orders, some of which inspired the final sequencing of the album.
