WCA Reviews Global Cricket Schedule
The World Cricketers' Association (WCA) has launched an independent review to address the 'broken and unsustainable' global cricket schedule. The review will focus on global scheduling, the economics of the sport, and player employment and contracting, with recommendations expected by the end of the year. The six-member panel, including former ECB CEO Tom Harrison and ex-Pakistan women's captain Sana Mir, will consult players, administrators, and franchise owners. WCA chair Heath Mills criticized cricket's leadership for failing to create a coherent global structure, forcing players to choose between international and domestic leagues. The review aims to establish ring-fenced windows for both formats to coexist harmoniously. The International Cricket Council has not yet commented on the review.
