Venezuelan Gang Leader Arrested in Georgia on Murder, Kidnapping Charges

Ricardo Gonzales, a 32-year-old high-ranking member of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, was arrested in Cobb County, Georgia, on a Chicago police warrant for kidnapping and probable cause for two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. The charges relate to a January incident where Gonzales allegedly kidnapped three women in Chicago and shot them in an alley, resulting in the deaths of two victims. The arrest was part of a coordinated operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals and ICE. Gonzales is not a U.S. citizen and reportedly traveled to Cobb County to evade capture. He has been booked into the Cobb County Jail, where he awaits extradition back to Chicago. Attorney General Pam Bondi condemned Gonzales's actions, emphasizing the administration's commitment to removing such offenders from the country.
