Most of the country will enjoy widespread sunshine, while only the far north of Scotland is likely to see some rain. Night temperatures will remain moderate, dropping to the low teens, providing relief from the daytime heat. This period marks a significant departure from typical late April temperatures, with some regions experiencing values more than 10°C higher than average. Despite the heat, it is unlikely to meet the official definition of a heatwave for most areas, as the threshold requires three consecutive days above 25°C (or 28°C in London and the south).
