Aesthetician Arrested for Counterfeit Botox Scheme

Rebecca Fadanelli, the owner of Skin Beaute Med Spa in Massachusetts, has been arrested for allegedly administering thousands of counterfeit Botox and filler injections while falsely claiming to be a nurse. Over a three-year period, she is accused of earning nearly $1 million by providing these illegal services, which included using fake Botox, Sculptra, and Juvederm imported from China and Brazil. Fadanelli performed around 1,631 Botox and 1,085 filler appointments, charging clients for procedures that posed significant health risks. The investigation was prompted by a client's report to the FDA after experiencing adverse effects from a lip filler treatment. Fadanelli faces multiple federal charges, including illegally importing merchandise and dispensing counterfeit drugs, which could lead to decades in prison if convicted. The case highlights serious concerns regarding public safety in the cosmetic industry and the dangers of unregulated practices.
