Xbox PC App Expands Cloud Streaming for Owned Games

Microsoft has expanded its 'Stream Your Own Game' feature to the Xbox PC app, enabling Xbox Insiders with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription to stream and play more than 250 supported Xbox console games they own—including many outside the Game Pass library—directly on PCs without downloads or requiring an Xbox console. The service now also supports select Xbox 360 titles and leverages Microsoft's cloud servers for streaming. Users must own digital copies of the games, participate in the Xbox Insider program, and be located in one of 28 supported countries. The feature supports play on various devices, such as PCs, consoles, TVs, browsers, and Meta Quest headsets. This move aligns with Microsoft's strategy to focus on subscriptions and software flexibility while improving access for users with limited storage or lower-spec devices. Microsoft plans to make the feature broadly available to all Game Pass Ultimate subscribers later in 2025.
