Tigers, Dodgers Lead 2025 MLB All-Star Starters

The 2025 MLB All-Star Game starters were announced, and the Detroit Tigers made history by having three position players—Riley Greene, Gleyber Torres, and Javier Báez—named American League starters for the first time since 2007. Greene led all AL outfielders in votes except Aaron Judge, Torres will start at second base, and Báez becomes the first player to start an All-Star Game at both shortstop and in the outfield. The Tigers and Dodgers each have three starting position players. Notable snubs include Nationals outfielder James Wood, Mets first baseman Pete Alonso, Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz, and Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena, all likely to be named as reserves. Jacob Wilson of the Athletics made history as the first rookie shortstop to win the fan vote, and Cal Raleigh became the first Mariners starter since 2015. The full All-Star rosters will be finalized on July 6, with the game set for July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta.
