Eid-e-Milad flag procession

In Madhya Pradesh, police arrested three young men and detained a minor for waving a Palestine flag during an Eid-e-Milad procession, allegedly inspired by social media content glorifying the flag. The arrests, made under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita section 197 (2), were prompted by videos that identified the individuals. Balaghat Superintendent of Police Nagendra Singh stated that the group misled a tailor to create the flag. Meanwhile, in Kota, Rajasthan, three individuals were arrested for allegedly insulting the national flag by incorporating Islamic symbols during a Barawafat procession, following public protests led by local BJP leaders. The suspects, including two minors, face charges under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Both incidents highlight tensions surrounding national symbols and expressions of solidarity with Palestine.
