Rovanpera Extends Lead in Dominant Canary Islands Rally

Toyota's double world champion Kalle Rovanpera has dominated the Canary Islands Rally, winning 12 of 13 stages and leading by over 45 seconds going into the final day. Rovanpera's performance put him well ahead of teammate Sebastien Ogier and championship leader Elfyn Evans, with Toyota occupying the top positions for most of the event. The rally, making its world championship debut as the fourth round of the season, saw Rovanpera regain strong form after a slow start to the year. Hyundai drivers, including Adrien Fourmaux and defending world champion Thierry Neuville, trailed behind the Toyota contingent, with Neuville acknowledging he was pushing his car to its limits. The event will conclude with five more stages, including the points-earning Power Stage. Rovanpera credited his success to finding a good rhythm, stating, 'It's not about pushing, it's about having the flow.'
