John MacArthur, California Megachurch Pastor, Dies at 86

John MacArthur, the longtime pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, died at the age of 86 after being hospitalized with pneumonia. He was a prominent and sometimes polarizing religious leader known for his defiance of California's COVID-19 restrictions, continuing to hold indoor church services despite state mandates. MacArthur served as pastor-teacher for over 50 years, founded The Master’s Seminary, and authored numerous theological books.
