Bagnaia Takes First Pole, Marquez Crashes Czech MotoGP Qualifying

At the 2025 Czech MotoGP qualifying session in Brno, Francesco Bagnaia claimed his first pole position of the season with a record-breaking lap time of 1:52.303, breaking Marc Marquez's 2016 Brno lap record by over two seconds. Despite a slow start in Q1, Bagnaia regrouped and advanced to Q2, where he outpaced Marquez, the current championship leader, who crashed on his final lap at Turn 13 while attempting to reclaim pole. Marquez will start second on the grid, while Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo secured third to complete the front row. Reigning world champion Jorge Martin returned to qualifying after injuries but managed only 12th place. The qualifying session highlighted Ducati's strong performance, with Bagnaia and Marquez leading the charge, although Marquez's crash introduced a dramatic twist heading into the race. Championship standings show Marquez leading with 344 points, followed by his brother Alex Marquez and Bagnaia.
