The match began with Nick Babin securing a dominant 16-0 technical fall at 125 pounds, propelling Pitt to an early lead. Despite Bucknell temporarily taking a 7-5 lead, Pitt responded with three consecutive victories, including a 19-3 technical fall by Finn Solomon at 149 pounds. Jared Keslar also contributed with a significant 13-5 major decision at 165 pounds. Bucknell managed to win one bout at 174 pounds, but Pitt closed the match with strong performances, including bonus-point wins from Reece Heller and Dayton Pitzer.
