Two Sons Arrested in Fatal Mother Stabbings

Two separate incidents of fatal stabbings involving sons allegedly killing their mothers occurred on Thursday in different U.S. states. In Douglas County, Nebraska, 33-year-old Nicholas Saitta was arrested after an altercation with his mother, Dianne Misiunas, which ended with both being taken to the hospital, where Misiunas died from stab wounds. In Ogden, Utah, 25-year-old Alec Conrad Martinez was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and disarming a police officer after police responded to a frantic 911 call and found his mother with severe knife wounds; she later died at the hospital. Martinez confronted officers with a bloody knife, resisted arrest, and grabbed an officer’s taser before being subdued. Both cases remain under active investigation. Authorities have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public in either location.
