Jefferson Reaches 8,000 as Vikings Lose 37-10
Justin Jefferson became the youngest player in NFL history to reach 8,000 career receiving yards at 26 years, 129 days, but his milestone was a rare bright spot in the Minnesota Vikings' 37-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers that dropped the team to 3–4. Jefferson caught seven passes for 74 yards and was visibly angry at halftime, tossing his helmet and warning the team must “figure out” things, a reaction that has fueled trade chatter given his four‑year, $140 million extension. Carson Wentz, playing through a shoulder injury, completed 15 of 27 passes for 144 yards and was sacked five times as a banged-up offensive line struggled. The Vikings' defense surrendered large chunks of yardage, and rookie J.J. McCarthy remained sidelined with an ankle injury. Head coach Kevin O’Connell acknowledged the team was outplayed and outcoached, leaving Minnesota facing urgent decisions to try to salvage the season.
