PennDOT plans bridge replacements in Bedford County, public feedback sought
Multiple bridge projects are underway across the United States, highlighting infrastructure improvements and safety concerns. In South Woodbury Township, Pennsylvania, PennDOT and P. Joseph Lehman Inc. proposed replacing a west bridge with cul de sacs and upgrading an east bridge with a box culvert, with construction expected to start in April 2027. In Shawnee County, Kansas, a bridge removal and replacement project over a creek is set to begin on February 10, with completion anticipated by June 13. Meanwhile, in Oregon, the U.S. Forest Service plans to replace a broken bridge on Sweet Creek Trail in June, which has been causing disruptions for hikers. Additionally, the Isle of Wight has approved a new steel and timber structure to replace the unsafe White Lady Bridge, an iconic local feature. These endeavors reflect ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and ensure public safety across various regions.
