Five Charged in Chicago-Indianapolis Gun Trafficking

Five individuals from Indianapolis, including a 17-year-old, were arrested and charged with trafficking firearms and machine gun conversion devices between Indianapolis and Chicago. The suspects face multiple felony charges, such as gunrunning up to 20 firearms, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful sale of a firearm, aggravated fleeing, and selling firearms without a valid FOID card. Authorities recovered 20 firearms and three machine gun conversion devices during the arrests in Lansing, Illinois. The investigation involved the Crime Gun Intelligence Center of Chicago, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Chicago Field Division, the Chicago Police Department, and the Cook County Sheriff's Police. The suspects were charged in Cook County and scheduled for a detention hearing on Saturday. The case highlights ongoing regional efforts to combat gun trafficking.
