England's hooker Jamie George will miss the Six Nations opener against Ireland due to a hamstring injury sustained during Saracens' recent Champions Cup match. This injury compounds a challenging week for George, who was recently replaced as captain by Maro Itoje. Alongside George, scrum-half Alex Mitchell is also a doubt for the match after injuring his knee, although he remains in the training camp for rehabilitation. Other players, including Alex Coles, Jack van Poortvliet, and Alex Dombrandt, have also withdrawn due to injuries. In light of these setbacks, coach Steve Borthwick has called up several replacements, including Northampton's Curtis Langdon and young prospect Henry Pollock. The Six Nations campaign kicks off for England on February 1 against Ireland in Dublin.
