Viking Floats Out New Nile River Ship Viking Thoth in Cairo

Viking Cruises has marked a major milestone with the float-out of its newest Nile River ship, the 82-passenger Viking Thoth, at Cairo’s Massara shipyard, signaling the start of its final construction phase before debuting in October 2025. This vessel will join Viking's existing fleet to sail the 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, which includes iconic Egyptian sites such as the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Temples of Luxor and Karnak, and the Valley of the Kings. Viking plans to expand its presence on the Nile significantly, with four additional ships set to launch by 2027, growing its fleet to 12 vessels and reinforcing its position as a leading luxury river cruise operator in the region.
