Eutelsat Launches 20 Satellites with SpaceX

Eutelsat has successfully launched 20 satellites via SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, marking its first deployment since merging with OneWeb in 2023. The launch took place on October 20, 2024, from California's Vandenberg Space Force Base, further expanding Eutelsat's low Earth orbit communications network, which now totals over 600 satellites. CEO Eva Berneke highlighted plans for more satellite launches in the coming years to enhance connectivity for broadcasters and telecom companies. Eutelsat is also focused on integrating into the telecom ecosystem and is in discussions with U.S. and international operators, including AT&T and potential clients in India. With a backlog of $4 billion in orders, the company anticipates growth in markets like India, projected to expand 36% annually. Additionally, Eutelsat is exploring opportunities in in-flight connectivity services, aiming for revenue growth next year.
