Missouri QB Beau Pribula Injured; Return Uncertain
Missouri’s 17-10 loss at No. 10 Vanderbilt was overshadowed when starting QB Beau Pribula suffered a left ankle injury on a fourth-and-goal run in the third quarter, was placed in an air cast, carted off, and coach Eli Drinkwitz said the ankle "had to be popped back in." Initial imaging showed no fractures and Pribula was scheduled for an MRI and further testing to evaluate ligament damage. Follow-up reports offered a mixed prognosis: some sources say it was a bad sprain with ligament damage that likely won’t require surgery and leaves an outside chance of a late regular-season return, while other outlets indicate he could miss the remainder of the regular season. An ankle dislocation without fracture often requires about six weeks of immobilization and Missouri’s final regular-season game is roughly 34 days away. True freshman Matt Zollers — elevated earlier after Sam Horn’s season-ending injury — relieved Pribula, completed 14-of-23 for 138 yards and a touchdown, and is expected to start during the upcoming open week and against Texas A&M. Pribula’s injury further strains Missouri’s thin quarterback depth and dents the Tigers’ SEC title and College Football Playoff hopes.
