Texas Tech Extends McCasland Through 2030-31

Texas Tech men's basketball coach Grant McCasland has signed a six-year contract extension, keeping him with the Red Raiders through the 2030-31 season and making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the country. Over two seasons, McCasland has led the team to a 51-20 record, back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, and an Elite Eight run, while Texas Tech finished second in the Big 12. The Red Raiders set a program record with six straight weeks in the AP Top 10 and achieved a No. 8 final ranking after March Madness. McCasland was named a semifinalist for the Naismith National Coach of the Year and earned increased postseason incentives as part of the extension. Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt praised McCasland's impact and the raised expectations for the program. McCasland's overall collegiate head coaching record now stands at 206-97, reflecting consistent success at each of his prior coaching stops.
