Neeraj Chopra to Compete at Lausanne Diamond League

Neeraj Chopra, despite finishing with a historic silver medal in javelin at the 2024 Paris Olympics, is already focused on his next competition, the Lausanne Diamond League, scheduled for August 22. Currently training in Switzerland with his coach and physio, Chopra explained that his decision to stay in Europe was not for medical reasons but to complete the season amidst a groin injury. He expressed confidence in his ability to compete, having previously won the Lausanne event in 2023. Chopra acknowledged the impressive performance of Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, who set an Olympic record with a throw of 92.97m, stating that he believed he could have surpassed it if not for his physical condition. After the Diamond League events in Lausanne and Zurich, he plans to return to India for further treatment. With an eye on qualifying for the Brussels Diamond League Finals, Chopra aims to maintain his top position in the javelin throw points table.
