Nvidia invests $500 billion in U.S. AI supercomputer production
Nvidia is set to revolutionize AI infrastructure by shifting its supercomputer and chip production to the United States, marking a significant industry transition in response to domestic manufacturing policies. The company is developing over a million square feet of manufacturing space in Arizona and Texas, partnering with Foxconn and Wistron to establish facilities for its Blackwell chips and supercomputers. Production is already underway at TSMC's facilities in Phoenix, with full-scale operations in Texas anticipated to start within the next 12 to 15 months. Nvidia aims to produce AI infrastructure worth up to $500 billion domestically over the next four years, enhancing supply chain resilience and meeting rising global demand. CEO Jensen Huang emphasized that this move is crucial for strengthening the supply chain and supporting the growing AI technology market. The initiative follows Nvidia's recent success in securing a domestic manufacturing agreement that exempted some of its advanced chips from export restrictions.
