Madhya Pradesh High Court Judge Alleges Harassment in Transfer Amid Personal Hardship

Justice Duppala Venkata Ramana of the Madhya Pradesh High Court publicly criticized the Supreme Court Collegium during his farewell speech, alleging his transfer from the Andhra Pradesh High Court to the Madhya Pradesh High Court was executed with ill intent and aimed at harassment. Despite requesting a transfer to Karnataka to secure better medical treatment for his wife suffering from serious neurological conditions, his appeals were neither considered nor rejected by the Supreme Court, causing him deep personal distress. He described the transfer process as lacking humane consideration and expressed bitterness over the system's handling of his case, while acknowledging support from fellow judges and the Bar.
