Cascade Park Elyria Ohio
On July 25, Elyria safety crews rescued a young girl who fell approximately 15 feet onto rocks at Cascade Park, landing in a precarious position near the Black River. First responders, including firefighters, police, and Lorain County Metro Parks rangers, worked for about 40 minutes to stabilize her injuries and extricate her using a Stokes Basket. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was airlifted to MetroHealth Medical Center via a Cleveland Metro Life Flight helicopter. Elyria Fire Chief Joseph Pronesti praised the collaboration among various teams, highlighting their exceptional work. The child's condition has not been publicly detailed, but she is expected to make a full recovery. The local community is hopeful for her swift healing.
